The journey
The Maasai Mara is Kenya’s most reliable first safari: high predator density, open country, and a camp that puts you back in the reserve while the light is still kind. This is the long-weekend shape we book most often for guests flying into Nairobi.
Prices are per person sharing, in low-to-shoulder lodge categories, before international flights. Park fees move; we reconfirm them on the invoice, not in a footnote after you have paid.
In the field
— Morning and evening game drives
— Optional sunrise balloon
— Big Five in open country
— Maasai cultural visit on request
Countries of the trip, in practice: Maasai Mara. Read the place notes if you want the road times and the sort of camp we book.
Day by day
This is the spine. Lodges change with season and availability; the rhythm does not.
Day 1
Depart Nairobi after breakfast and drop through the Rift Valley. Lunch at camp, then an afternoon drive for lion, elephant and plains game. Dinner under canvas or in the lodge.
Day 2
Out at first light with a packed breakfast. In season we position for river crossings; out of season we work the marshes and the Musiara area for cats. A long lunch back at camp, then a second drive into the sunset.
Day 3
Optional balloon at first light, or a short sunrise drive. Breakfast, checkout, and Nairobi by late afternoon. Airport drops can be arranged if your flight is the same evening.
